Cheney implied that if Bush was defeated in the 2004 election, we would be attacked by terrorists. Has it occurred to him under whose watch all of this terrorism has occurred? (Hint: It wasn't under Clintons.)
This period in our history will be remembered as "the era of terrorism." Bush/Haliburton (sorry -- Bush/Cheny) will be remembered as the "terrorism administration." How much worse can it get?

The actual quote:
"It's absolutely essential, that eight weeks from today, on Nov. 2, we make the right choice, because if we make the wrong choice then the danger is that we'll get hit again and we'll be hit in a way that will be devastating from the standpoint of the United States."

The [pre-9/11] warnings provided by intelligence agencies to the FAA were far clearer and more specific than suggested by Condoleezza Rice's testimony before the 9/11 commission when she reluctantly conceded the existence of a presidential briefing that warned of impending Al Qaeda attacks. Rice had dismissed those warnings as "historical," but according to the newly released section of the 9/11 report, an astonishing 52 of the 105 daily intelligence briefings received by the FAA -- and available to Rice -- before the Sept. 11 attacks made specific reference to Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden.

Few things Cheney has said made me madder than this insane comment! And then the spin doctors stepped in, trying to make it sound like that's not what he said at all! How stupid do they think we are? Of course that's what he said. The Bushies have made us more unsafe and hated in years. How anyone can say we're safer today than before when a man ships himself from Kansas to Dallas undetected is beyond me. What if he'd been carrying a bomb with him? Linda
