A working person voting for a Republican is like a turkey voting for Thanksgiving.
The AP identified the 50 House districts [in Michigan] that fared the worst from 2000 to 2005 in terms of declining incomes, rising poverty and increasing unemployment. Only seven are on anybody's list of competitive House races, and only four are considered toss-ups.

I have never understood why any minorities vote for Republicans, either. I think too many women, blacks, hispanics, etc. got caught up in the debate over marriage only being between a man and woman that they voted for Bush without realizing they voted against their own self-interests. Religion must be taken out of politics. Linda
