Christianity is indeed under assult in modern day America.
Jesus was an advocate for the poor, the downtrodden and the less fortunate. Republicans are advocates for the rich and well-heeled. Their philosophies are polar opposites.
  • Bombing Iraq for the sake of expropraiting their national treasure (oil) was not "turning the other cheek," it was an assault on Christianity. (Technically "turning the other cheek" doesn't even apply here, since Iraq had never attacked us.)
  • Cutting taxes on the wealthy while evicerating services for the poor and allowing Americans to live in abject poverty is not taking care of "the least of these," it is an assault on Christianity.
  • Arresting peace protesters in NYC during the Republican National Convention in 2004 is not "blessing the peacemakers," it is an assault on Christianity.
  • The huge increase in the disparity of wealth between the rich and everyone else during the current Republican administration is not "blessing the poor," it is an assault on Christianity.
  • Vetoing the children's health care bill is not "bring the little children to me," it is an assault on Christianity.
  • Vetoing the bill to federally fund stem cell research (twice) is not an emulation the inclination of Jesus to heal, it is an assault on Christianity.
  • Imprisoning thousands of non-violent drug offenders for what is essentially a victimless crime is not limiting punishment to "an eye for an eye," it is an assault on Christianity.
  • Impeaching Bill Clinton for adultry (that's what it boiled down to) was not "letting he who is without sin cast the first stone" (an episode prompted by adultry), it was an assault on Christianity.
Yes, Christianity is under assult in modern day America. And that assult is being staged by the moden conservative movement.

Imagine finding these pearls of wisdom in the Republican platform:
Matthew 5:5 - Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land.
Matthew 5:7 - Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Matthew 5:9 - Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Luke 6:20-26 - "Blessed are you who are poor, for the kingdom of God is yours.
But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation.
But woe to you who are filled now, for you will be hungry."
Matthew 5:39-40 - "If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also".
Luke 6:28-31 - "Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other."
Matthew 6:9-13 - "forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Matthew 19:24 - "I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

From the Republican Party debate - Monday Dec. 13, 1999 at the Des Moines Civic Center in Des Moines, IA.

BACHMAN: What political philosopher or thinker...do you most identify with and why?
BUSH: Christ, because he changed my heart.
BACHMAN: I think the viewer would like to know more on how he’s changed your heart.
BUSH: Well, if they don’t know, it’s going to be hard to explain. When you turn your heart and your life over to Christ, when you accept Christ as the savior, it changes your heart. It changes your life. And that’s what happened to me.

For a President who claimed during his first presidential campaign that the greatest philosopher was Jesus Christ, Bush does not appear to hold the philosophy of his hero in very high regard.

Jesus also didn't have a problem with people paying taxes. "Render unto Caesar, etc." Linda

I found this website while I was searching for other things and thought the people here might find it interesting. I could be wrong though. http://jesuswasnotajew.com fft

Of course Jesus was Jewish. Christianity began as a Jewish sect, and in a sense it still is. The entire first section of the Christian bible, the Old Testament, is the Hebrew bible.

(The website that you listed features on it's opening screen a video that starts with Glenn Beck. That should be a clue right there that the website is not legitimate.)
