Never underestimate the ignorance of the American people.
[A]ccording to a Gallup poll conducted in February [2009], only 39 per cent of Americans believe in the theory of evolution.

[A]s science pollster Jon Miller of Northwestern will tell you, one in every five Americans believes the sun revolves around the earth.

In one of Miller's recent surveys, 75 percent of people agreed that animals adapted and evolved over time. But 65 percent believed that humans were created as whole persons by God and didn't evolve.

I suspect we'll look back with astonishment to a time when both the president of the United States and the Senate majority leader -- a doctor -- wanted the pseudo [intelligent design] taught with the science.

The [Creation Museum in Petersburg, Ky., opened in May by a creationist group called Answers in Genesis] target group is the 45 percent of Americans who, for 25 years, have consistently agreed with the statement in a Gallup poll that “God created human beings pretty much in their present form at one time within the last 10,000 years or so.”

In a ‘State of the First Amendment Survey’ conducted by the University of Connecticut in 2003, 34 percent of Americans polled said the First Amendment ‘goes too far’; 46 percent said there was too much freedom of the press; 28 percent felt that newspapers should not be able to publish articles without prior approval of the government; 31 percent wanted public protest of a war to be outlawed during that war; and 50 percent thought the government should have the right to infringe on the religious freedom of ‘certain religious groups’ in the name of the war on terror.”

Actually, anonymous contributor, USA is the greatest debtor nation on earth. USA borrows over a billion dollars PER DAY. USA borrows about half of that money from foreigners, mostly Asians from China, Japan and South Korea. Since Bush and his allies came to power, undid eight years of hard work by the Clinton administration and returned us to the status of the worlds biggest borrower, the whole world actually supports US. (Incidentally, only a fraction of one percent of our federal budget goes to foreign aid. Far less per capita than most of the countries in the developed world.)

You are obviously operating under the delusions espoused by the right-wing media. Perhaps you should do some research before you express your misguided opinions in a public forum.

I think we have an egotistical President! And I believe we have people the old fashion way like we always did, other than God creatin Adam & Eve. Don't you? I don't know how much we borrow, but it's too much. As much tax as Americans have to pay we shouldn't have to borrow anything, unless it's wasted.! And yes Bush sure did undo a lot of things that were so much better than now; don't you think?
