We should assume control of US port terminals and instead turn Iraq over to the Arabs in Dubai. |
But seriously...
This isn't about terror, it's about money. Lots of money. Bush seemed genuinely surprised by the furor. It never occurred to him that this was about anything other than one of the despotic Arab regimes, with whom his family and circle are joined at the pocketbook, steering more of the global cash flow in their direction. When this is hushed up and it blows over (probably after some committee is appointed to study -- I.e. stall it -- for a while), the Dubai shipping company will quietly take their place as terminal tenants along with corporations and governments of many nationalities -- some comparable with our way of life, some not. Bush family cronies will be invited to make appearances for ungodly speaking fees, and the money and power will remain where it is. In the end, the government of U.A.E. that controls the Dubai shipping company has no direct interest in terrorism one way or another. They just want to make money. |
