The U.S. WAS in Iraq before 9/11.
The U.S. has had a heavy presence in the middle east since the discovery of oil in the early part of the 20th century. We led a war in Iraq to oust the Iraqi army from Kuwait in the early 90's. We imposed sanctions on Iraq throughout the 90's that apparently led to the deaths of many innocent Iraqis. We imposed "no fly zones" over large portions of Iraq since the end of the first gulf war that led to many armed airborne confrontations with the Iraqi military.

When the advocates of the Iraq occupation tell you that "we weren't in Iraq on 9/11", ask them if they are ignorant or lying!

Mr. Bush has grown increasingly insistent that nothing he has done in Iraq has worsened terrorism. America was not in Iraq during the first World Trade Center attack in 1993, he said, or during the bombings of the U.S.S. Cole or embassies in Africa, or on 9/11.
