John McCain didn't "misspeak" when he linked Al-Qaeda to Iran.
During a recent trip to the middle east, John McCain said that the Iranians were helping Al-Qaeda in Iraq. When Joe Lieberman pointed out that in fact the Iranians are Shite and Al-Qaeda are Sunni, and that they are on opposing sides in the Iraqi civil war, McCain quickly corrected himself.

But McCain had said exactly what he meant to say.

This was another statement in a long and sordid attempt to link Iran with Al-Qaeda, and thereby link Iran to the 9/11 hijackers. This is yet another subtle lie intended to reinforce in the public mind an excuse to attack Iran.

...

Let's look at who John McCain is. He is the son and grandson of military families. His claim-to-fame is that he spent his youth bombing the Vietnamese. He is one of the last holdouts defending the bombing of Iraq. And he has even made jokes about bombing Iran.

Hasn't there been enough bombing? Isn't it time for this country to take a different approach? Can't we do better than John McCain for president?
