"Stay-at-home" is not a job. To say that "stay-at-home" is a job demeans every woman (and man) who gets up every morning and goes to a job, whether or not they have kids at home.
I have a "stay-at-home" dog. He monitors the back yard and keeps the birds and squirrels at bay while I'm at work all day. Is that a job? Should I get him a social security number?

Yesterday, I told him to mow the yard when I left. He looks at me like he's listening intently, but somehow nothing seems to get done while I'm away.

Seriously, despite all of the criticism heaped on the Democratic advocate who chided Ann Romney for pretending to know what the lives of working women are like, this issue will resonate with them. They know that "stay-at-home" is not a job.
Here's a thought that you will never hear introduced into the public political sphere. If it were introduced, it would be quickly and roundly condemned by all sides...

What do we call a woman who fucks several men who in exchange pay her rent? We call her a prostitute. A whore.

What do we call a woman who fucks one man and lives in his house? We call her a housewife.

The difference between a whore and a housewife is that the whore fucks several men for her sustenance while the housewife fucks one man for her sustenance. When you boil it down, that is the dividing line.

This is a slippery slope that the Republicans have started down by defending Ann Romney and her "stay-at-home" job. They would be best advised to let this one go and quit while they're ahead.

And, if the Republicans want to call being a full-time mom, without leaving the house to go somewhere else to work, why are they so deadset against welfare? Isn't a woman getting welfare being "paid" to do her "job" of raising the kids? And, how much help did Ann Romney have. I find it hard to believe that someone with the kind of money the Romney's have didn't have a maid or two. Linda
