Americans are by-and-large left of center, and if the Democratic party would associate itself with left wing policies enthusiastically instead of apologetically, it would win elections. |
In the 2014 midterms, an election that supposedly condemned left wing principles, voters overwhelming passed left wing policy propositions, such as minimum wage increases and marijuana legalization. When presented with specific policy choices, Americans support left wing positions. When presented with political party choices, they often side with conservatives. This means that the Democratic Party has failed to associate itself with these principles. |
