Is it really unfair to compare Trump's approach to politics with professional wrestling when one of the speakers on the final night of the 2024 Republican National Convention was Hulk Hogan?
Examples of distractions that Trump has injected into the public discourse in order to distract from "Trumpism:"
-
Obama tapped his phones in Trump Tower during the election
-
Millions of voters had cast ballots illegally for Hillary Clinton
-
"122 vicious prisoners, released by the Obama Administration from Gitmo, have returned to the battlefield. Just another terrible decision!"
--Trump on Twitter - Mar 7, 2017
{O}f the 693 former Guantánamo Bay detainees who were transferred to other countries in the entire 15-year period since the Bush administration opened the wartime prison in January 2002, 122 are “confirmed” to have engaged in militant activity after their release.
However, the overwhelming majority of those 122 men — 113 of them — were transferred under President George W. Bush, not President Barack Obama.

- The White House press secretary has said that whatever your lying eyes told you, President Trump’s swearing-in had “the largest audience to witness an inauguration, period.”
- He has insisted that the president’s travel ban against majority-Muslim countries, which the president called a “ban,” was not a ban.
- He has claimed, falsely, that former President Obama tapped a Fox News reporter’s phones.
